If you have a mom, give her a hug. I am really missing my mom today, which is rather ironic, as she hated Mother's Day and thought it was an overly commercialized day, designed to fatten the coffers of Hallmark. Still...I wish she were here so that I could hear her say that one more time.
And look!
I have been knitting my brains out, including sitting in The Bead yesterday while Rachel shopped for clothes. I got lots of comments about how clever I was...little do they know!
Look at this neat garter stitch edged heel.
So pretty.
So...with all this knitting, are both socks finished?!

Holidays, even manufactured, are hard when you're missing the ones you love.
But it's your special day, too! Hope you had fun.
Well, I can't say for sure about your Mom, but MY Mom would have been darn proud of you for kniitng those socks. As you know, she thought the exact same thing about Mother's Day, and, no surprise, it was a sad day for me too. At least YOUR mother didn't say, as mine used to, that every day was Mother's Day.

I should have called you, ML...except we might have ended up just blubbering at each other over the phone, poor motherless children that we are.
Did Aunt Lois ever knit socks? I remember (somewhat jealously) the yummy sweaters she would knit for you. Mom never knit..."Too much math" she'd say.
Now, Marion was a knitter. I wish I still fit into the sweater she knit for me.
