Behold! A Sock!!

What ho! Lookie here. The Stormy Days sock is finished. And it isn't all that short, either. And how much yarn did I have left?

Not a whole lot.

And our pear tree is in full bloom.

Tomorrow we'll be heading to DC to see Mr. Pointy Stick's brother, who is there for a conference. Other than that, who knows what the weekend will hold?

I love the colors of the sock -- perfectly named. Wouldn't naming colorways be an awesome job?

I think that...and then I run into a naming contest on the internets somewhere...either naming a colorway or a finished pattern....and my head just goes blank.

If you embiggen the photo, you can see little bits of pale, pale yellow, like sunshine breaking through the storm clouds. I love it.

Your beautiful sock reminds me of when Dad would say to Mom, after eating some fantastically tidy sandwich with homemade mayonnaise and about five layers of fatty well-balanced wonderfulness--you know, something left over from the night before and exquisitely prepared to start with--including lettuce that ALWAYS stayed in place, "Lois, now THIS is a three dollar sandwich." Out of touch as always. Nice sock.

Aw. I can hear him saying that.

And thank you. It's a simple sock, but sometimes I think simple is best.

I've had lots of projects end like that - nerve racking. It's that or buying too much yarn. Guess that's difficult with socks.
