Oh Frabjous Day!

We are being very chore-y this weekend...have cleaned the oven, have taken a lot of books up to the library, have made a dent in the stacks of books lining our living room. And today we did the grocery shopping. Ugh.

But....

We were rewarded by discovering, on the end cap of one of the Superfresh shelves....

Hydrox cookies! Cookies of my youth! Cookies oh so superior to Oreos! Yummy Hydrox!!

Okay, they aren't quite as good as the ones I had as a child. But, unlike the last Oreo's I had, they don't leave you feeling as though you've eaten a mouthful of sugar-flavored Crisco.

Excuse me while I go stuff my face with Hydrox.

You know you're supposed to just eat the centers and throw the outside covers away, right?

Stephen Augarde sounds interesting. I've purged my books somewhat ruthlessly (for me) and try to rely on the library. In fact, I read more library books than purchased books. Alas, the purchasing of books hasn't really stopped. Slowed down a bit.

Yeah, I'm trying to be ruthless, too, though I'm afraid my ruthless is another person's unabashedly self-indulgent.

I really should use the library more and maybe, once I cut down on the number of books just stacked all over everywhere, I'll be more willing to bring library books into the house. Although, if I just read the books I own that I haven't read yet, I'd have reading material for years.

Well, yes. And even reading library books mostly (says the Excel sheet I've been keeping the last couple of years) I still keep buying books. But you have to read the library books first. And the others pile up.

But definitely use your local library! If we don't use them, they're going to go away and that's never been a bigger possibility than now. Don't give them an excuse.

Carrie, I consider it my duty to check out as many books as possible and keep them as long as possible, even if I don't read them, just to make the library look good.

And Hydrox are better than Oreos, no question. The cookie tastes more like chocolate, and the filling is more of a frosting. Yum!
